It proved to be quite a different last day here. I went to see Otis Gibbs at Lucy’s and the sound was that poor he had to curtail his set. Otis certainly got the short straw.Luckily I knew of a great evening of acclaimed & up & coming Austin talent hosted by Jon Dee Graham that made a good grand finale to SXSW.We had JDG then Bonnie Whitmore, Betty Soo, Beaver Nelson,Adam Carroll, Abra Moore, Ben De La Cour, & the surprise appearance of Shipcote & Friend (Tracey Dear from The Waco Bros).I couldn’t have wished for a better finish to Austin.
