Jumping Hot Club are pleased to announce the first ever visit to the north east of ‘The Queen Of Oklahoma’ Carter Sampson at the funky little Arch 16 cafe on the end of the High Level Bridge. Carter will be touring as a trio, performing songs from her critically acclaimed albums ‘Wilder Side’ and last year’s ‘Lucky’.

Carter Sampson burst onto the European country/americana scene with the release of her 2016 album Wilder Side. The album drew considerable praise through out the media garnering 5***** in Maverick, 4**** in R2, 4**** in CMP, Radio plays on Bob Harris Country – who calls Carter “impeccable” – Another Country With Ricky Ross, Ralph Mclean & Robert Elms London program amongst a plethora of accolades throughout the roots press.

Today Carter feels she’s “LUCKY” and, co-produced with Jason Scott, she now delivers a wonderful album with that name. Seven self-penned originals, including Rattlesnake Kate (an absolute crowd pleaser) and three well-chosen covers make Lucky the perfect follow up to the much-loved Wilder Side. Of the covers, Shell Silverstein’s Queen of The Silver Dollar is a regular in Carter’s sets and Kalyn Fay’s Tulsa feels like a state anthem to proud Okies.
The Arch 16 cafe wanted to put a J’Hot show on, so as its in Gateshead we have given them this little gem. Be aware though, it’s only very small, so get your tickets asap, it may well sell out.
