Boss Sounds is back

We were lucky enough to get a grant from the Arts Council Cultural Recovery Fund.

So for one night only, we are bringing together archive footage from many of the greats who performed at Boss Sounds with live performances from the cream of northern reggae talent. Artists featured will include Dawn Penn performing her smash hit, “No No No”. Dennis Alcapone with his ‘70s anthem, “Guns Don’t Argue”, Ska legend Owen Grey singing “Millie Girl” and the legendary Winston Francis singing “Your No Good”. There will also be footage of Misty and Roots and the Resonators flying the flag for UK reggae. Expect some surprises as well as we trawl the vaults for rare, captured footage from the days when Prince Buster, John Holt and Ken Boothe played Boss Sounds.
As well as footage from the legends of ska and reggae we will also be showcasing some of the hottest northern reggae talent performing live and direct from the Globe. Performing live on stage will be Mr “Wye Eye Man” Tex Johnson, the poet, Radikal Queen, the sublime Jah Glory, the superb Regimental Birdman and rising star Kay Greyson who will be MC for the evening and playing live for the first time ever her take on some reggae classics from back in the day. Watch out for some of the hottest reggae dancers performing as well creating the vibe for the artists and of course the audience at home.
