FRANK FAIRFIELD ( USA) + Scott Hartley

From California, USA, Frank Fairfield is a young man and old time folk musician who plays fiddle, guitar and banjo while singing and hollering. An unbelievable word of mouth sensation who channels the spirit of another era in his spellbinding live shows. Still in his twenties but steeped in the pre-War Americana of Mississippi John Hurt and Dock Boggs, he cut his teeth as a street performer in LA and has the raw intensity and quick-fingered technique to make your hairs stand on end. His forthcoming release is on Jack White's Third Man Records

“A young Californian who sings and plays as someone who’s crawled out of the Virginia mountains carrying familiar songs that in his hands sound forgotten: broken lines, a dissonant drone, the fiddle or the banjo all percussion, every rising moment louder than the one before it.” – Greil Marcus

“One of America’s best conduits of antiquity” –

MINDY SMITH & BAND ( USA) + Matthew Perryman Jones (USA)

A first UK visit in many a long year for the Long Island born, Nashville based rootsy singer-songwriter Mindy Smith. Her music can be described as a mix of Country pop, folk, & a little bluegrass. Mindy gained popularity a decade ago when she was asked to contribute the classic "Jolene’ to a Dolly Parton tribute album & then Dolly featured on Smith's debut album One Moment More." She has now successfully released five album’s which have charted on US billboard & have featured Emmylou’s guitar picker Buddy Miller & Thad Cockrell (as a duet vocalist). She has appeared at many top Festivals including Cambridge Folk Fest 2004 when she was aired on the BBC. Her latest album is led by the single "Closer"(the music video’s all over CMT) & the duet “Anymore Of This” which debuted on ABC TV show “Switched at Birth” .

She is “beyond category” & glorious - Popmatters, Mindy is a singer at a fork in the road to revelation – Folk Alley If I had to choose one voice that I wish I could marry (if it were actually possible to marry someone's voice), it would be the voice of Mindy Smith.- 2nd First Look

For fans of Patty Griffin, Lucy Kaplansky and Feist.

CARRIE RIDRIGUEZ & LUKE JACOBS ( USA) + Courtney Marie Andrews (USA)

From her deep Texas/Americana roots to her modern heart-breaking folk, Carrie Rodriguez delivers. Her voice is beautiful and strong, defiant and sweet. Together with her fiddle playing, the classically trained violinist has established an impressive roster of touring, recording, and co-writing affiliations with Lucinda Williams, Rickie Lee Jones, John Prine, Mary Gauthier, Alejandro Escovedo, guitarist Bill Frisell and others.Discovered by Chip Taylor more than a decade ago, while playing in her hometown of Austin Texas during SXSW, Carrie has come a long very way.
Her latest release, ( her 5th) Give Me All You Got, deals with a few dark themes, which is not surprising given that one of the first songwriters who inspired Carrie in her early teens was Leonard Cohen !!!!!
